Wine history
Vines arrived with the First Fleet in 1788, and Silesian settlers established the Barossa in the 1840s — many of those ungrafted vines still bear fruit today, among the oldest in the world. After decades of large-scale export, the focus has shifted to regional identity and lighter, cooler-climate styles.
